It is also not a coincidence. This machine is rated at 30 lbs a day rather than 44. Less ice per hour means less compressor work, which is less power. Low draw and low output are two views of the same design decision, and any page presenting the low draw as a free win is selling you something.

A small sign of a serious manual

NewAir publishes the refrigerant charge — 20 g of R600a — alongside the refrigerant type. Nobody else in this comparison does. It is not a number you will ever use, and it is exactly the kind of detail that appears in a document written by someone who expected a technician to read it.

The counterpoint is that the same table publishes no bin capacity and no rated output; the 30 lbs a day on this page comes from the manual's title rather than its specification table, and the page says so.
