ecozy Countertop Nugget Ice Maker
One of the most cross-shopped machines against the Opal, and one of the least documented. Those two facts sit awkwardly together.

Why the Opal comparison cannot honestly be made
A spec comparison needs two sets of specs. GE publishes 3.0 A, 38 lbs per day, 1.6 lbs per hour, a 3.0 lb bin, 3 inches of clearance and a 37.6 lb empty weight. ecozy publishes, as far as we can find, nothing.
Comparison pages resolve this by filling the second column from marketplace copy and presenting it in the same typeface as the first. That looks like a comparison and is not one. Our version of that page is honest about it: ecozy versus GE Opal.
What is true of any machine in this class
- The auger mechanism is the same, so the ice is the same soft chewable pellet.
- The bin is unrefrigerated, so ice melts and the meltwater recirculates, exactly as on a machine costing four times as much.
- Maintenance is identical: empty it when idle, clean it regularly, descale it according to your water.
- Ambient temperature and inlet water temperature affect production on every machine of this type, whether or not the maker publishes an operating range.
If you buy it anyway
Which is a perfectly reasonable thing to do, treat the marketplace figures as marketing rather than specification, and give the machine the same maintenance you would give an expensive one. The failure modes in this category are overwhelmingly water-related — scale, biofilm, a blocked pump — and they do not care what the machine cost.
Start with the cleaning procedure and the water you put in it.

ecozy appears constantly in searches alongside the Opal, which is why it has a page here at all.
No manufacturer manual with a specification table could be retrieved, so every numeric field reads Not published.
We have not tested it and we are not going to describe how quiet or fast it is on the strength of other people's reviews.

Questions people actually ask
What are the ecozy nugget ice maker specs?
We could not retrieve a manufacturer manual containing a specification table for ecozy's nugget machines. No rated output, no bin capacity, no electrical rating and no dimensions are published by the manufacturer in any document we found, so every numeric field on our page reads Not published.
Is the ecozy nugget ice maker as good as the GE Opal?
There is no way to answer that from published data, because only GE publishes any. We have not used either machine. What we can compare is documentation, and on that measure it is not close: GE publishes current, ice rate, bin capacity, clearance and weight, and ecozy publishes none of them.
Why do so many comparisons put ecozy against the GE Opal?
Because it is a price contrast that gets clicks, and because search demand for the pairing is real. That does not make a spec comparison possible. Most such comparisons quietly fill the ecozy column from marketplace listing copy without saying that is where the numbers came from.
